Welcome to the Eurovision town in Iceland
The day that Iceland first took part in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1986 was celebrated like a national holiday by the people of Húsavík.
Húsavík is a town of music. Some of Iceland’s best known musicians have come from this nice little town in northern Iceland. We have even sent one of our own to the big stage of the Eurovision Song Contest.
Húsavík is now the setting for the 2020 Netflix film Eurovision and the hometown of the fictional singers Lars Erickssong and Sigrit Ericksdottir, played by Will Ferrell and Rachel McAdams. The film also stars Pierce Brosnan as Erick Erickssong, the most handsom man, Dan Stevens as Alexander Lemtov and Demi Lovato as singer Katiana.
Principal photography in Húsavík took place in October 2019 and the film is speculated to be released in May 2020. The people of Húsavík are very excited.
This website is run by the Eurovision Fan Club of Húsavík.
